This is the third in a series featuring 8mm colour films of shipping
historian Bernard Cox. It features twenty three Excursion Ships (1960-1988)
that took the place of Paddle Steamers on the South Coast and Bristol
Channel area. Short excursion trips along the coast were all part
of family holidays at the seaside. The edited collection of films
ends with an extended modern day sequence depicting preserved ship
Balmoral still at work in her 50th Anniversary year.
