FLYAWAYDAY TO  ICELAND BY CONCORDE

The day trip of a lifetime . . . fly Concorde to Iceland

The first supersonic flight to the Arctic Circle by British Airways Concorde took place in the summer of 1984 and  demand was such that two Concordes were required for the occasion.

The second in our series of popular  Concorde Day Trips takes you to this Icelandic adventure. Arrival in Keflavik is  followed by a specially arranged sightseeing flight with Icelandair at an eighth  of Concorde's speed over some of the world's most desolate regions where the  American astronauts trained for the moon. Here is nature in the raw with glaciers, volcanos and rugged terrain. After a traditional fish lunch, there is a short fashion show Icelandic style, featuring a bejewelled model in a creation entitled "Inspiration of Lava and Volcanos."

After visiting some colourful gift shops, a coach tour provides views of the island, culminating in a spectactular  climax - a hissing, steaming, boiling geyser. Then it's back to Concorde for a  pulsating take-off and a return trip in first class luxury with all the excitement and service for which the aircraft is so renowned.
